On April 28th, Infineon Technologies AG launched the latest 600 V TRENCHSTOP™ Performance IGBT, delivering a new level of performance and efficiency. This state-of-the-art discrete IGBT provides high energy efficiency and reliability at a competitive price point for applications such as air conditioning, solar PV inverters, motor drives, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).
Based on Infineon’s TRENCHSTOP technology, the new IGBT is optimized for hard-switching topologies, operating at frequencies up to 30 kHz. The TRENCHSTOP Performance IGBT series offers an exceptional trade-off between conduction and turn-off energy losses while providing excellent robustness. It features a 5 µs short-circuit capability and outstanding electromagnetic interference (EMI) behavior.
The 600 V TRENCHSTOP Performance IGBT serves as an excellent alternative to previous TRENCHSTOP IGBT models from Infineon as well as competing products. In a plug-and-play replacement, the new IGBT reduces switching losses by 7% at 8 kHz and achieves an unmatched 11% lower total loss at 15 kHz switching frequency.
Using the same package footprint, system redesigns for improved efficiency and competitive cost can be implemented quickly, easily, and with minimal effort. The 600 V TRENCHSTOP Performance IGBT contributes to more energy-efficient power consumption, higher system reliability, and longer operational lifetime.
